Title: Ordering Minnows
Post by: icerod on Mar 03, 2010, 10:14 AM
Hey guys/gals, I recently acquired a minnow system ( bulk tank made into a minnow tank).  I have looked on the internet to find places to order minnows but I am having no luck.  I live in southern Iowa. Do ya know where I can order minnows?   Will it cost much?  I plan on trapping river minnows in the spring but for now i would like to have crappie minnows and fat heads. I would greatly appreciate any info on this.  Thanks :) :)

No concerns of VHS? In Michigan we have to keep receipts for all of are bait purchases and then have to through them out after so many days.

I ordered some spikes today online 500 for $7, I'll split them with some friends.

Wow eriksat1 that is a great price!  Where do go to order ural larvae or spikes?  With that many do you have problems with the spikes cocooning up?  Even when I put them in the fridge, they still cocoon up.

I've got 2000 spikes in the fridge with no problems so far. I know guys that keep 20,000 a year in their fridges.

I keep mine right at 33deg.

This is the first time I have bought them like this, but they say just keep them cool in the fridge and no problems. I'm tired of paying $3 for 2 dozen waxies at the bait shop. Spikes work just as good.
