I was thinking about this post yesterday.  I bought a Mr. Jigger at sportsmans and was thinking I need to make some of these before the ice gets here.

I bought a Mr Jigger this year also. A piece of 1x8 would work great to make your own with.

It will be here before you know it Idbasser. A 1x8 would work fantastic I have also seen people make them out of plastic pipe. :)

I am bringing this post back up.  I am finally making some.  A friend borrowed your jig and has been working out an assembly line procedure.  A couple of us will be making several this weekend.  Finally after 2 years I am going to make some.

Thanks for the idea and the use of the jig.

I made some out of 1x2" wood. Here is one I made and the Mr.Jigger Notice I drilled a hole in both so the wire can be bent on the ends and never come out of the holder.

And of course the ones I made fold up.

I fish with a group of guys that have these and they are the best rod holder by far that ive seen. Is there any way you could post a picture of your jig? From wyoming and id like to try my hand at making them!!

Wow lots photos have been deleted by photbucket that's sad, they are pretty easy to make  you have to make 180 degree bend then place them in this jig the wood jig is what i made to hold them why welding together.  they work fantastic good luck and have fun sorry it took so long had to go find it hadnt made any for years

got one cut and bent yesterday.  going to take it to buddies mig today.

will be fun to deploy on the night crappie around the light.  should be enough give to let them get the minnow in.  then when they hit bottom and drag they should set hook themselves!  gone use the wind jigging to run jig worm for bass too.  bass/pike hits should put it to test.

You will love them If i could only use one kind of pole holder they would be it you can see the lightest bites :)

They work great for trout Had big fish grab them and take off pulling drag and no issues never had one tip over or head down a hole biggest fish to date is 28" 8.5 pound one  on them.  between the wife and i we run up to 10 poles with a few jawjackers mixed in :)
