CJ Strike
« on: Dec 12, 2009, 10:47 PM »
Fished CJ strike today, 3-4 inches of ice near the narrows, We fished 8am-5pm. I talked to a county sherriff in the am and in the pm, he had been all over the lake 4-5 trout is all he saw on the ice. I had one really nice rainbow come unhooked just as he came out of the hole, took a nightcrawler, I also broke a line setting the hook on another bite, what a way to start the ice fishing season! Hope to get back on the lake soon, lots of good ice early on CJ strike, now to find some panfish!

Indeed Sir, thats the spot... The lake has alot of ice on it, I hope it thickens in the narrows enough to fish it too, all the trout I saw caught were in really shallow water, we always catch perch here in the summer, but they must be in deeper water, that or they werent interested in our offerings..

So is the ice still good over there? I fished Salmon Falls Creek Saturday and found some nice trout but nothing else.

Still 3-4" of ice in the Bruneau arm narrows bay off the highway, I dont know how far out I would go, but trout are being caught in 2-3 feet of water on jigs, powerbait is working around the dam and Black Sands Resort

Have you found any perch or crappie yet and how much ice do you have now?
