Last year completely I 100 percent missed the season for health reasons, the only thing fishing related for that year was buying some bait (mighty fine looking from dearjimschmidt ) . Fast forward to this year75% health and 25 % weather (no ice). Here is hoping 24/25 is better. We will start with Scott please sign me up for another year here at Ice Shanty and Jimmy I am hoping to drown your baits this spring and fall for Crappie, bass and perch as well as other panners..

Been there, done that, and still doing it. Took up airbrushing this winter and now airbrush the lures for the grandkids, myself and a few buddies.

due to lack of ice last year, I got carried away with building ice rods due to no ice. How many does a guy need?

     Last year half way thru the season I got Covid which along with having Copd for some time which was no big deal just take my puffers and carry a few.  Between that and ending up catching phnemonia with a couple hospital stays.  It really bit me in the ass but not giving up yet just modifying it.  Got out twice this year 1st trip just going thru snow on top of the ice my Milaukee brushless did a big cloud of smoke and its toast.  Second trip was nice I knew some guys on the ice and gave them a call and they came and got me and my portable oxygen, drilled me a hole and I caught one fish and had a great time.  Boy for the good old days.

I think it all has to do with 2 things.
1) lack of control and 2) what we enjoy. Answer one at a time if you wish.....
I lack control, not sure let's see.... 24 ice rods, 5 ice tents, and 4 ice sleds let's not go any deeper if you get my drift.
2) I do not mind people but I do prefer alone time. I will take family but in all these years of fishing on ice or open water, you can count my ventures with other people other than my grandkids on 2 feet and no more than one hand. Me the fish and alone time ='s splendor........

Lack of control up-date, 4 rods bought and did not even make it out of the house never mind the ice = 28 ice rods or and traps...
