Let's see so far this year what have I bought that I didn't really need  ::) ::)

8" lazer hand auger - we haven't had enough ice in southern MI to warrant haulin' out the power auger the last few years and some days I want a bigger hole than my 5" would deliver.

A couple of HT polarlite 21" ul noodle rods for sight fishin' pannies, well they were 3" shorter than the ones I was usin' in my Trap.

New line, a dozen or so more Marmooska jigs, a few Fiska jigs, and a few more jiggin' Raps. To go along with the hundred or so lures I have now.  :P

A Pak Shack for those quickie local trips and those ponds I walk into and just for those days I don't feel like messin' with the Trap or the DX4000.

As you've notice I'm real good a rationalizing all my purchases, so's I don't feel too bad spendin' the moola. ::) :P

No ice in sight, but I added a few more pieces to the gear.

First off was a clam guide cover, I dont know why these dont come with the shelter as I feel they are needed, but I guess its a way to gouge you for anout $60

I had in the past been transporting my rods in a bucket so this year I decided to buy a cheap rod locker, along with some clam rod slicks to help protect them.

I have seen these bobbers in a few mags this year, never tried them so at 3$ you cant go wrong

Hey icejunky,

What's your normal load look like going out on the ice?  Number of rods, jigs for what species target that trip, etc?  I'm sure you've already figured out how everything is going to be arranged in your clam, right?

I thought I was going to be loaded down this year with a portable shanty, heater, ipod, tacklebox, a jiffy and stuff.  It used to be just a spud, pole, couple of jig heads, waxies, and a bucket to sit on.

Im still working on how to load that sucker, the rod locker I bought will hold four rods, which is usually good for a day trip since my local lakes are usually pannies and pike. The rods for pannies and tip-ups for pike. My Jiffy should sit well on top of the clam but if not I have a second sled that can be loaded up when fishing with buddies when we got a seond guy pulling.

Wow, way to go icejunky it looks like you are ready for what ever fish swims your way. It will be interesting how the Fireline crystal works for you I would like to try some on one of the open water rods.
I do like the Cajun Red line, it seem to have good strength and low memory.

So far I have perchased:

Storm Wildeye {Intense} Shad package
New Auger blades
Frozen baits
rubber salamanders
single tails and double tails mr.twisters.

I would like to purchase the Aqua-Vu DVR, but have to check around for one.

Icejunky, love all the stuff but that guide will need special weight permits to be allowed on the ice  :o :D :o :D ;D ;D ;D
If you have no clue what you are doing just buy more gear and try to look the part.
