Power Pro Line
« on: Dec 12, 2005, 04:12 AM »
I was wondering if anyone has tried the 1Lb. diameter or the 4 Lb. diameter line yet, and what they think of it? I took a chance and bought a 75 yard spool of each to try out. It's a little pricy at $8.25 a spool, but I thought that I'd try it on my perch rod and walleye rod.

I used it last year for jigging up lakers and walleyes. I used a flourocarbon leader with it, it worked OK, but I did get a few tangles...but that is most likely due to operator error :D

power pro is my favorite softwater jigging line for deepwater walleye... haven't tried it on the ice yet.... (key on the yet).

I have used the power-pro ice line and found it to be really tough and stands up to a lot of abrasion. The only thing is ,being a micro-filament, its like a braid and tends to carry a lot of water and ice-up in really cold conditions-great if you're inside the shack or outside on warm days.
Just my opinion on this  :)

Thanks Tombo, I am thinking it might stiffin up, kinda like a wet shoelace, when it gets cold... oh well, I bought it, so I guess that I'll find out for myself. I'll let you know.

I have power pro on my jigging poles and my tip ups and have not had a problem with it. I also use it on my saltwater surf poles.

Thanks, I guess that I'll give it a shot. The other thing that I worry about is visibility. Clearer lakes may be harder to catch fish if they can see the line.
