Soft case for flasher??
« on: Jan 11, 2012, 12:17 PM »
Im lookin for a SOFT case for my ICE-35. Its great without a case but i just dont like the fact that its so exposed and can easily be banged around. After all, I dont want to hurt my baby  ;D. Is their some kind of tool bag, cooler bag or something similar ??? Thanks in advance.

I keep my FL8 in an old soft side tackle box. Works great because it has side pockets for a jig box and other stuff.

Was thinking about the actual case but haven't seen any around here. So i was planning to improvise, but i do like the tackle bag suggestion. I didn't even think about it :pinch:

When I got my 45 I wanted a case. Got the humminbird case on amazon for $35. Not bad considering humminbird wants $50 for the same thing on their site.

My ice 35 came with the pack right in the box. Not bad for $260!  Thanks Fleetfarm!

I have this bag and for the same price as a hummingbird case, you can't go wrong! Lots of storage.

Some ideas here, and i like em. Keep em comin.
Looking on homedepot.com i like the looks of the tool bags because you can get some of them to have a zip up tops and good bit of pouches on em.
Keep firing off ideas!!

I've been looking for a flasher case that is wider. I just got an EchoMap 73dv and with the gimble knobs it is a little over 11 inches wide. I was hoping it would fit in my Lowrance ice bag but it will not. might be looking at a coleman, igloo, rubermade cooler instead. I have a line on an ice armor flasher bag but it looks like the opening for the screen is pretty small. Won't know until I try to fit it inside.

I got a couple of these for spare units. the price is right, plenty roomy for a 35. http://www.glensoutdoors.com/trophy-angler-ice-guide-square-bottom-flashers-soft-pack.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiA6JjgBRDbARIsANfu58G7t5BGkREKQMrhQNBJyR3bjmBp4gRo4dHaFWVGi8Uzr_I5Cc2k55kaAhFgEALw_wcB

I was lookng for dimensions on this. I did not find any. The price is right if my 11" wide unit can fit inside. I would probably need to make a base to mount it to that fits on the bottom since I don't have one already.

That's a nice case. I've got a  Vexilar fl18. It's got a round bottom. Anyone see one that would fit that one?

11" won't go, I just measured and 8 - 9" is the max. The old Ice Armor flasher bags would work. They're 10" zipper to zipper plus have another couple inches on each side.

Reeds has one. Sale for $18

Or you could put a round peg in the square hole...

Worked on my flasher bag today. Just have to take one "T" to work and have the hole opened up so the pipe will slide easily.

I have a 93sv in my clam bag, so you're good to go with the 7" model.

That's nice. I just just didn't want to spend $60 for a case. I'll give this a try this winter. I'll be installing the transducer on the trolling motor on my boat in the spring. Then I'll have to get an actual ice transducer for next year.
