Strikemaster blade sharpener

Is the Strikemaster ice sharpener any different than the knife sharpeners that could be bought in Cabelas, Wallyworld?

i guess i wouldnt call it a sharpener. but it works great for maintaning the edge and knocking down burrs. it is different then a typical "sharpener" it keeps the proper angle of the edge

Actually, it's very different. The Strikemaster "sharpens" on only one side; a knife sharpener sharpens on both sides. If you use a knife sharpener, you will change the angle at the ice side of the blade and your auger WON'T CUT AT ALL.
