Still on Ice
« on: Feb 26, 2018, 10:37 AM »
Anyone still have the itch to ice fish?

Just made another trip back from Fox Lake in Wisconsin. It’s about a 3 hour drive from Northwest Indiana. Left Sunday afternoon on 24” of ice. We rented a sleeper shack an stayed on the ice from Friday-Sunday. What an awesome expirence for any ice fisherman. Hand size gills all day, perch, crappies, pike and eyes.

I would like to recommend Pork n Mammas ice fishing. They have a Facebook page. They rent sleeper ice houses, pop ups, augers, fish finders, etc...anything you need. Great guys and will put you on fish. Drive up and they have everything you need.

What an awesome experience that must be.  I can't even imagine attempting to drive my vehicle out on the ice!

That looks like a very good time. Thanks for sharing. I work for a company that has an office in Milwaukee. I might have to put in for a transfer.  ;D

What is the daily limit on gills in Wisconsin and how many can you bring home?
Fisherman's Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish
          Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
       I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
           And peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be Judged
              BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

Daily limit for panfish 25, Pike 1, 5 walleyes. We were able to double since we stayed Friday-Sunday and never left the ice.

Here are some more walleye pics.

Will be heading back up this weekend

I do believe they consider this lake a trophy lake and the length limits are a lot higher on this lake then most lakes am I correct in saying the walleye have to be 18 inches long to keep them there?  I’ve been there and stayed in there shanties and fished all weekend and didn’t catch a keeper walleye  caught a lot of fish but no keeper eyes
I take em how ever I can get em

Sleepers are $150 for a night. During the day we were hole hoping around the shanty. We were fishing 5ft all day. Heading back up Friday. 16” of ice still
