i have been fishing a 16ft flat with tip-ups. getting nice bass right at the 10-16ft drop off. only catching 20ichers on the flat. what should i do? look for the deep drop off? or is it just a bd place?? sometimes we get some 30inchers. a guy down from us about 100yrds. got a 38incher 13lbs. saturday.

Big pike like places where there is cover to ambush prey. Weeds, logs, points etc. This time of year the bog hogs the females are moving into.weedy bays in prep for spring spawning. That's where you need to go. Big bait the bigger the better.

This weekend I am going to look for weeds in Lake Poisnett and try to fish over them.

most of our bigger ones come in the 20'-30' zone. also, if your just after the bigguns use big baits 5"+ .
