I knew from surveys that purch were in 11 Mile Res never really believed it though. What do you know. Not what I was going after, but got one anyway. Broke my skunk of 11 mile, never caught a fish there in 3 years until Sunday.

It's sort of perchy, at least I've seen a lot of them cruising the shallows in little schools. Sort of surprising to see one caught on a pink HD Ice. Three years of skunks at the lake of
broken dreams is not that uncommon. Some guys kill 'em, some guys can't buy a fish.

The HD Ice in bubble gum has always treated me well, I caught a pike firs thing on it when I arrived to the lake. Lost it at the hole. I have always been an HD ice fan and have every pattern. I can't wait to use it at Boyd and some warm water lakes when they freeze.

I've actually seen some really nice perch on the aqua-view, but could not get them to commit

I saw a lot on the finder but only had one commit to a lure that was half his size lol.

Bought a few HD Ice lures years back and have yet to catch a fish on one. My experience has been more of a fish repellent.

That's how tube jigs are for me when it comes to lakers. I tie a clinch knot on it ,and jig it non-stop but lightly so it looks like a little energetic fish, than i do a aggressive jig up and let it flutter down in a way and it brings them in and eventually entices a bite.

We've caught some pretty nice perch there but it's been a while. Also there's some good-sized smallies in there-

Nailed the eyes 4 years ago @ CC on the bubble gum HD, Haven't caught a fish on them since. Go figure :-\

A good number of trout I’ve iced this season so far have come on the bubble gum HD ice. It’s a confidence thing. Once you get a feel for how they want it, it’s a deadly bait.

I was sold two years ago after catching 10 inch fish on plastic worms I decide to go a little bigger and ended up getting into a 18 inch rainbow, now I always use it. I actually like to use it of a kayak as well.

Add me to the list, not a single fish on hd
-
Goal is to use the lure with Walleye and bass. I can't wait for some of these warm water species lakes to freeze.
-
Could be a while with these temps.
The HD is NOT my favorite for bass or walleye...

Same with me and my Homies. They work fine when the fish are hitting. Otherwise don't work any better than anything else-
Another thread talks about how good PK spoons work. They suck for me, a Kasty works tons better-
Who knows- ;D

Good to know! I suppose you guys are right when it comes to the bait working when the bite is hot, but it has always enticed something bigger to bite for me. I can't wait to give it a try at Boyd, I'm not expecting most of these lakes to freeze till start or middle of Jan.

Yeah, let us know how it does at Boyd -- I'm curious to see how you do! If it's your go-to bait, and you have confidence in it, then that's the best bait to keep working with.
