I have a redneck chisel myself. Can’t really compare as it’s my first and only one.

I have the jiffy Mille lacs chisel. It gets the job done. Seems lighter than most chisels.

My best chisel was a tapered curved blade about 4" wide on bottom and sloped to the main shaft about 5' high it was beautiful 3 piece handle the bottom section was a solid shaft. got left at the parking site but when I got back someone  else claimed ownership and was gone never saw it again..

The Jiffy Mille Lacs chisel is American made. The others including the Eskimo Redneck are Chinese.

My favorite chisel sounds like the same as yours. It was red and worked great for ice fishing early season and beaver trapping. Do they still sell them?

I lost my heavy 2 piece Gander Mountain chisel 2 years ago. Got the CABELAS ICE CHISEL to replace it. Little shorter and a lot lighter, but in my opinion it is the way to go! Only $19.99(regular price)  Gonna stop tomorrow and pick up another one as a backup I like it so much.

best chisel i've used is the Jiffy Mille Lacs.  it's "stepped" and does a better job of breaking up the ice vs. a straight edge....even when dull.

We will have to wait until next November. The ice here is over a foot thick.

Add me to this list. I also own the Redneck 2 piece and it's just soooooo heavy. The Mille Lacs is super light and that makes me use it more.
