Looking for a new place to fish for salmon and trout- Upper Cold Stream?

We are looking for a new place to fish for salmon and trout.  Considering renting a place on Upper Stream Pond by the Narrows.
What can you tell me about this area and pond?  Is it better to fish in January?  What about the beginning of March?  I've never been there. Thanks for your advice!
