Ice out on Rangeley

We have a camp in Avon and a few of us are going to drag our boats up from MA to do some landlock fishing on Rangeley around May 1st.
Need update on the ice out. Do you think it'll be earlier this year? How much ice on the lake?
Any info would be great.

you cant ice fish there so might be hard to get info i live about an hour from there and we have about half what we should and no snow.

Mother's day produces well for me each year.

Some year's it's completely out by that time, others it isn't. 

But that's the magic weekend

Thanks for the info guys.

This will be my first time going for the ice out.
Been going up to the camp for 25 years and have never fished Rangeley, though plenty of experience on Clearwater and Mount Blue pond.
The guys have agreed that Mothers day weekend would be best.
I'm thinking I'll go up the first of May to get some stream brookies and fiddle heads.
