Just wondering who is going to venture out tomorrow and do you have a house/portable or just brave the cold..
-
I'm headed out in the morning. Not likely to set out traps, just jigging in the portable. I expect I'll have the pond to myself.
-
I'll be out. Have a hardside but may just jump around.
-
I'll be drilling holes first light.... I rarely set up the portables, tomorrow I will have the 1 man flip up with me, chances are I wont use it, I'll tending traps.
-
Headed out in the AM as well...I’ll be jigging as well in the Clam, And moving

aint that the truth, as long as there is light wind, I had minus 9 myself... no big deal if the winds not blowing
-
Course I’ll be out...fishing in nothing but a T Shirt probably. I like staying mobile and warm at the same time.

Oh I will be out, snug as a bug. This thing is as warm as can be.

I'll be out for sure as well.
Basketball season is over. Psyched. Taking junior out. Toughen him up a lil bit more in the cold.
-
I planned to go to Danforths, but changed plans and I will be heading to Granite instead.
I have a large clam pop up and my lp tank is full.
We plan on finding the parents of those Baby Lakers in Granite
-
Of course since I am the one who started this post. I will be out with my Eskimo pop-up with heat. Probably headed to my favorite Lake. I agree with all of you who said as long as there is no wind the cold isn't that bad
-
I'll be out with the eskimo i5- I haven't decided which lake though- somewhere in the Freedom-Eaton area

Looks like a nice light weight setup... Do you leave the shack on ice/shoreline or do you trailer it beside the sled everytime?
-
I'll be out in a black popup on a two trap lake. Wind doesn't look too bad so it should be nice.

Good luck, I surprisingly got one earlier this year that was almost legal.
-
I don't think its going to be brutal because the wind will be down...headed to an old stomping ground for some largemouth and smallmouth...staying warm with our fire bucket...she be a wonderful day on the ice with plenty of sun..no shelter needed

Agree. We been waiting all winter for cold..time to embrace it
-
Looks like there could be a couple more days of some sub 32 weather coming later next week too. Could be two good weekends in a row for the ice.

I leave it on the ice, depending on the conditions and future forecast I’ll either block it up real quick and secure to the ice or simply drag it into shore and tie it off. It only weighs about 300 pounds so it’s easy to move even by hand. I use a 2500 pound winch that I rig up to the sled battery to drag it onto the trailer with the sled, very easy to move about to other lakes.

Sounds like a great setup

Stopped there today you will have no problem parking. If you have a snowmachine you should be OK. If you are pulling a sled by hand it might be a little rough the snow is fresh and a little deep. No one was out yet so no trails to follow. Good luck. The NW wind was brutal today.
-
Thanks M&M
Bringing the sled so I can explore
Wind was ugly on Fraklin Pierce today. Started near the no wake area and had to move to a cove to get out of the wind.
-
Get after it!

Weather dude was wrong in my neighborhood... big surprise lol. Above zero around here, not by much but 5 above is better than the 5 below I was expecting...

-
Quiet up at the Circus for us today. Nice and sunny though. Couldn't get em to bite anything, marked a bunch.
-
Fished until 1 30,nice say once I got bye the morning, got 6 nice whirs, but had to earn them.
-
Got to the lake pre-dawn and fished until 3pm
Fished deep for Lakers= nothing (found something but they stayed on the bottom)
Packed up and moved in shallow.
We got about a dozen bows in 3 to four fow.
1/16 oz. Pink jig with a tiny piece of dilly.
We took 2 home at roughly 15 inches each.
-
Fished until about 1, got nothing. Had a couple lakers chase early in the morning.
-
Very slow and my favorite smallmouth/rainbow lake today, caught a nice smallie around 9 3lb 13oz got a few hit and runs then at noon (funny thing is I just bought a digital scale) I got a fattie, weighed in at 4lb 7oz..weighed pictured and released..just have to figure out how to get picture from phone to here. Was 0 at daybreak but warmed quickly.

Mark, if you click on that add image to post under where you’d type your reply a page will pop up saying choose images and then you just click on it. That is of course if you are on your phone. I don’t have a computer so maybe it’s different.
If you want just text it to me I’ll throw it up

Thanks again Frank
-
Quality fish! All my biggest Smallies come out of trout ponds that are non designated ;)
-
That's a good looking Sally only thing I hate about catching them this time of year is how lethargic they are.
-
Nice smallie, good colors.
-
Very nice.
-
He was not lethargic at all.
-
Wait a 9 almost 10lb smallie? Doesn’t that blow away the state record?
-
I think the text runs together.
Stretch it out and it looks like 9 am he got a 3lb 13oz smallie
Still a pig
Just a guess
-
John is correct

Haha yes I see it now. Wishful thinking on my part

The bite was just on fire ALL weekend!
Did anybody else experience this? It was by the far the most action all year for us. Just no downtime both days....continuously throughout the day, which is never the case. There's usually lulls in each day out.
To top it off, this was in my opinion the best weekend weather-wise and ice conditions all year.
