Minnesota ice road
« on: Jan 19, 2022, 11:03 AM »
2 nd year for the ice road, but listening to someone in a video about it, mentioned it cost $1500. per mile to get it set up!!!
37 miles long, all they have to do is plow some snow every now and then and put up a few speed limit signs.

IMO the cost to get it going and keep it going is ridiculous.

I thought I watched something on this last season. Don’t they have to build bridges over all the pressure ridges as well?  That could be a big cost.

Not great at math but doesn’t that mean it only cost $55,500?  Probably some serious work and provides something in return.  Of course I’m no expert or mathematician but $55k gets crapped away locally and federally on the regular.  Glad it benefits Ice guys.

$1,499 of that goes for the Liability insurance.  ::)
