not saying your wrong because it could be due to different diets but i catch allot of the fish you say is a shiner on steroids and they all have the orange fins the fish in the one picture doesnt just my reasoning

There are a few other fish that look similar to the fallfish but I think that's what that is. The last picture looks like a grass pickerel, every picture I find online is different, but that's my best guess with the striped eye and markings.

I think my weirdest was a blue perch, actually got two both pretty small and no pictures.

Interesting. I have heard of blue pickerel. Thanks for the analysis. I have another pic that I will post tomorrow

I caught a pickerel last year with a huge gash in the side of it. Probably from a cormorant or fishing line?

a squishy fish, was identified as a sea prech by someone. i dont think a sea perch is actually a real type of fish.

Yeah, I got that news from some other people. Were you able to figure out if the fish is a pike or pickerel? If you didn't see the photo I took it is in an earlier post

Yeah, that's why I am confused. It is probably a pick, as they don't stock the spot where I took the shot with pike. Maybe bucket biologists were the cause of that pike there.

I jigged up a nice 1.5 lb perch that had a deep gash behind the dorsal all the way to the tail.

It's a fish.

By looking at the spots, I'd say pike.

Not my wierdest, but I caught this halibut which somthing had bitten while i was reeling it in. Not sure what it could have been as this fish was about 20 lbs. I am guessing it was probably a shark.

They are an odd type of fish that live in somewhat deep waters, like 100 feet. That's all I kno.about em

wish I had pictures of the some of the creatures of the deep atlantic that sometimes find there way onto a boat. Wolf fish are weird looking a bit scary even. Also anyone who has surfcasted up in the northern atlantic will know about skates they are weird fish also. I have caught a few blue perch always small but really cool looking they seem camera shy though.
