Just found this sight and hope to chat with someone soon.At work right now so I have to scoot. HA HA....Live right next to the Miss.River out of Prairie du Chien Wi.No ice yet but getting close.Have a good day.

Yes we have ice on the river. I fish for mostly gills and crappies on the dead water sloughs .But there are a few brave souls that get out on the ice below the dams and fish for walleyes! Most of are fish are fairly shallow. Most of are ice fishing spots are 2ft. to 5 ft. deep.Its very good fishing first ice and last ice! It seem once the ice has been on for a while the oxygen level drops to low and the fish go dorment.You can catch a few all winter long of course but the hot bite is early and late ice like I said before.

This site is becoming more popular.  Last year when I registered I think there was somewhere around 500 members.  In one year we obtained 4500 members.  On Riversmallies where I also registered they are just as many members and ranks right around number 7 or 8 of all fishing web sites.  i would like to know where Iceshanty ranks among other fishing sites.  Welcome Bass Bull, you will not be disappointed with this site.  Tons of info. and great guys and gals.
