I was Cheshire res on Wednesday, there was at least 6 inches. Pontoosuc had the same or more the last time I was there.

Over night temps last night were really warm, across most of the state. Be careful!

I won't bother looking around me for at least another week or 2, just gonna head to NH tomorrow for the day and hopefully find fishable ice

I checked a pond yesterday and it was 3/4 skimmed over. Went back this morning and it was down to 1/4 skim. By the time we left at 4:00, it was 100% open.

The only ice I've seen anywhere near the RT128 belt was in my drink.

I haven't even brought out my gear.

The only good thing I can think of (which might explain some of the fishing results elsewhere) is that last years drought conditions have been erased.
Of course that doesn't mean we won't experience the same thing again, but we should start the year where we should (water level-wise).

Oh well, it's just another year to remember and regale the youngsters with when they complain about the winter weather....
