Has anyone ever tried to use canned sardines as bait before? If so were they effective, because at only 50 cents a can, i might just give them a try. ;)

I have never tried them but I think they would be great pike bait being so oily.
Give them a try.
Be sure to buy the ones in the spring water, not the mustard or ketchup. :P

I use the whole sardines for bait.  The are frozen and about 8" long.  I don't if they would work out of the can.
