Slower day today on lake. Tried south end jigging and tip ups. Few bass on tip ups and very very finicky fish jigging. Lots of lookers and not many takers. Very lite bite. Fished from 11-4. Good amount of guys out nite bite action.

Lots of recent posts on FB I am hearing.  Might be why there's so many out there.  Then again what else is there to do thats better than ice fishing.

The lack of work, school or online work has made fishing quite popular this year open water as well

Toga usually gets more traffic on years with less ice elsewhere. Especially early
Safe ice on Lake George, sacandaga and Champlain usually takes the pressure off toga.

Hello everyone. I e wanted to fish this lake for years but not sure on the parking situation. I’ve heard about browns beach but you have to pay correct? I was planning on getting there late at night after work and fishing through the night. Would that be a problem with parking there? I would greatly appreciate a reply and good luck out there!

Browns beach is free to access, there's also Fitch Rd and the State Launch, all of which are free

Went out of waterfront park today. About 5” of ice but was kind of slow, mostly small perch on top ups with a few keepers.

Wasn’t as successful out of Browns today. Didn’t measure ice, probably 4,5”-5” but solid.  spudded my way out, many folks spent the day surviving the wind. Didn’t see much flag chasing, including from my Clam

Guess they’ll be hungry tomorrow

Fished out of browns yesterday. 4" of ice. We set 10 tip ups and jigged in the shelter. 1 perch on a tip up and nothing jigging, lots of lookers but nothing would commit.

Very impressive. You must have avoided the crowds at browns to pull out those numbers. Any size to the eyes?

Fished the lake for my first time yesterday.  Launched off of Brown's and had a real slow day.  One perch jigging in about 6 hours of fishing.  My battery on my Marcum decided not to work when I checked it before going out so I wasn't sure how many fish were around.  I could hear other groups around me saying they were marking fish but nothing would commit.  Anyways, I'm heading back out on Saturday and hoping to find some 'eyes.  Stay safe out there.

Agreed. Browns is the last place I would fish. Maybe park there but then I'd be walking a loooong ways. Might head out exploring Saratoga on Sunday. Any slush out there?

Anyone making it out mid lake yet. I might come explore on Sunday for eyes but don't want to fish close to anyone.

Tried tips and jigging for eyes last night but didnt find anybody hungry. barely marked anything and what we did mark was gone in a jiff. Only fish of the evening was a 17" fallfish so at least it wasnt a skunk. Measured 5" of ice.

Adironzach ... I had the same experience and idenentical ice thickness. Very slow night but the weather was nice(no wind). When jigging for eyes, do you use the whole minnow or cut it in half?

Iv had my best luck on toga dead sticking a 2nd rod. Main rod seems to bring them in but they hit the dead stick 10-1. Iv also found dead sticking with lighter tackle tiny hooks and a neutral buoyancy float helps. When I have had them hit the jig or spoon its been just the head.

Iv also found that being alone goes a long way. Get away from the crowds.
