Yeah my father got one and he hardly ever uses the buzzing action. he bought it not knowing it was a buzz stick.
-

well, I had a dick's card from christmas so I bought one the other day. A nice 28" ultralite Buzz Stick, oh well.
So I took it out and gave it a try yesterday. Noone else in the group that was jigging in the area got anything.
BUT, with my new BUZZ STICK I mustard up about 6 perch and 1 gill with these being the keepers. ;D
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v17/camofish/icefishing/011606NewPole1a.jpg)
10" & 9" perch and a 8" gill
For a lazymans fishing pole, I guess it worked, and the hit came when I had just hit the BUZZ button. ;D
So, my .02 cents worth is, DON'T knock it, till ya try it. ;)
And yes the guys were making fun at it, telling me that I could have taped on one of those, big battery operated buzz toys. ::) but they don't have a nifty little yellow button. ;D
-
i guess i work good i might go buy one this weekend so its a nifty thing to have i guess
-
the key words--"lazymans fishpole"....
-
Hey but it works and he caught fish didn't he how many fish did you catch in the last two day just a question?
-
the buzzing action does work but for what I have experienced and what i have heard fro others is that it is not a durable long lasting product .I have heard of many of them breaking ,and from what i noticed in the store is that half of them are broken
just my 2 cents
-
The buzzstick does work....I've watched it with a camera...When you hit the 'buzz', the vibrations stop the lure from spinning underwater...doesn't mean I'll buy one though. I like my regular sticks just fine enough.
-
i picked one up last year and never had a problem with it.....rod is a little too stiff for me but the reel is decent

it seemed nifty, they had the 24" and 28" rods, I went for the 28".
BUT, if you notice the fish running away from it, there just not ready for it, YET. ;)
So, back to the normal way of jigging. ;D
-
i used a normal rod two weeks ago and caught my limit in 10 min

not knocking the normal rod, they have been around from the beginning. ;D But, if you get into a finicky bite a little extra wiggle, normally doesn't hurt. ;)
-
bought one at gander a couple years back
on sale for $20. it still works and catches fish
its just one tool of many to put fish on the ice.
-
thats good how long do you guys think they last

I have read the posts about Buzzsticks and I have to admit I'm somewhat of a gadget kind of guy but I never fell for one of those. I remember reading a article written by Dave...( WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!! ) Genz and he was describing a technique called twitching or something like that and he described it as if you ever saw a person with a nervous twitch you would know how to employ the technique. I happened to think back on this one day while ice fishing and it was kinda slow and I remembered an old guy I used to work with that was a MAJOR alcoholic and whenever he said something to you, he would point his finger at you and begin to tremble and shake something terrible and then spit out what he had to say. My co- workers and I used to imitate him to ourselves for @#$@ and giggles. Well anyway....I got to thinking about how we used to do this and applied it to my jigging routine. I won't say I caught the world on fire but I began to catch more Gills. Bottom line.....dont be afraid to experiment...no matter what the circumstances behind it are...WK ;D
