A small group of us are heading out to Twin Lakes this Saturday, March 10th. We are taking a couple exchange students out for their first-time ice fishing. Does anyone have suggestions as to where we could fish to catch some panfish - or pike? We have lake access through a friends camp on the back side of lake Roland by the river that connects to lake Gerald - we could fish most anywhere as we have snowmobiles to get around on.
Any help or suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I am not aware of pike in Twin Lakes. At least I've never caught any.

According to the map book there are a few Northerns in there, but based on what I've been told by folks, there is not many at all.

Don't try to run a machine through the narrows between Roland and Little Gerald. There is a current through there and weak ice; especially at the bridge. Have had some fish around the brushy island at the South end of Roland. Never saw a Pike. Bass, perch, bluegills, crappies and some planted lake trout and rainbows.

just make sure they are dressed properly.
the internatilnal from china we took out fishing a few years ago came in tennis shoes.

Ha! Yeah I've taken exchange students ice fishing several times over the years and have had that happen, so now we know. Thanks for reminding me.
