I have been thinking about trying to get something set up, maybe a fish fry.  I'm willing to donate some crappie.

Everyone here on Nebraska Ice Fishermen Facebook page?  Maybe make an event there as well.

Sounds great.  Maybe a big fish fry somewhere mutual location.   See who is interested.  I have some gills and eyes to give.

I have to be honest really not that interested in a GTG unless it is on the ice.

I gotta agree with hankthecrank, a nice dinner out on the ice would be much more ideal and situation fitting to me. Im already having hardwater withdrawls insanely bad, much more talk about it and my ole lady is gonna string me up in the basement and beat me with my jason mitchell meatstick jig pole....... Im plannin on going to merritt for almost a whole week straight in january hopefully, Merritt seems to be a big favorite for most of us Nebraska guys. Plus i just feel like for a getaway fishing trip, next to going farther north...... its probably one of the best places in the state to go, scenery is great, everybody ive run into have been super great guys also. And i think the fishing can be pretty top notch when a guy gets it figured out there. So maybe we could do a big dinner up there some saturday on Boardmens??? Assuming we have enough ice to stand on!!!!

Sounds good to me.  Our group usually makes it up there a couple times a year to fish the refuge and Merrit.

Pot luck, all meals prepare in the ice huts?

Not to butt in on this get together, but I noticed several fellow Nebraska guys in discussion here.  Is anyone interested in riding together to go to the big St. Paul, Mn. ice fishing show sometime during Dec. 5,6 &7 that is coming up?

I have been thinking about going just have to get the work thing out of the way. When would you be thinking about going and would you stay over night. Might be a long drive to do in one day and catch the show too.

Possibly the wife and I might make a little vacation out of it.   Really getting excited to see everything.   Nice to see things up close and not on iPad.

If anyone is interested in riding along to the Ice fishing show in St. Paul, Mn., I was thinking of gathering any of those interested on the way towards Minnesota and staying at or near St. Paul that night of Friday Dec. 5, going to the show all day on Saturday Dec. 6, and then depending on what people wanted to do, either go to the show or start back home in the morning of Sunday Dec. 7,  getting home Sunday night or whatever worked for everyone.  If anyone is interested in riding along, let me know.

I usually leave Fri am & get to St Paul before the 1 pm opening.  Stay in Egan Fri night, go over the info I picked up @ the show & decide whether I need to go back Sat.  Leave Sat am, hit Cabela's (Omaha store is no comparison to this one) & Fleet Farm in Owatonna.  Sat afternoon stop @ Kabeles & FFL in Spirit Lake.  Home by Sat evening.

I'll be in line to get in the Show Fri the 5th ;D

Looks like you have the agenda figured out pretty well Wkndbum.

A few years ago the bank called and wondered if my card was stolen after a stop in Alexandria MN's Fleet Farm.  :'(

Yeh Sandbilly, I know what you mean about Fleet Farm.  I stopped in to one of those to use the rest room a couple years ago and by the time I left it was 4 hours and many dollars later..... :P   but ooooh the Cabela's Visa points that I built up on that one stop ! :-\    An expensive piss break ! :o  Oh well.  :)
