20lb fluro leader

Will a 20Lb. flurocarbon leader material work for a tip-up leader?  I have some spare on hand.  Would like to set tip-up with it for walleye, occasional pike, and perch.  Thanks.

thats pretty heavy for walleye in my opinion. i use 12lb on all my rigs from perch to lakers.ive never had a fish break off except for one time when something pulled me into some cover and hung up. had to break it. i know of alot of guys that use 20lb flouro for pike tho and do pretty well.i have never targeted them so i get away with it

Shouldn't be a problem. I like 10lb, but I've got friends who don't use anything less than 15lb.

i use 40 for pike, but have caught walleyes on it... you should be fine

use it and don't look back.     10#-14# or lighter is better for walleye but, the 20#  will never let you down.   use a palomar knot and get after them.

use it and don't look back.  why use 6# when you have 20.  i've caught from 4'' bluegill to 38'' pike on 20# flurorcarbon. hardwater and summertime fishing. good stuff.   if you don't tie a palomar knot, learn how and trust it.
