For me it is anything that fishes horizontal, IE the Gill Pill, Gill Getters, Ratfinkies, or a countless number of other manufactures that make the same kind of hook.

I'm really loving the 3mm fiska in gold this year.  Tipped with 1-2 spikes.  Really outfishing all other sizes and colors I have this year.

For strictly 'gils, Fiskas are my first choice, then #2 Raps w/ one spike hanging from each hook of the treble. Never tried a Marmooska, I'll give them a shot. Tight lines.   :icefish:

If you're thinking of powder-coating Fiskas???? Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did. :P     Only tried one & must have overheated the jig slightly/ The tungsten fell off the hook. :o  Must say that this has never happened to me while painting lead head jigs.     Good luck,  LL

The tungsten jigs are molded with a slot in them. Then solder is used to attach the hook to the tungsten body. I believe this is how most are made

I believe that you are correct. My bad for over heating the jig. ( Thought I could use more heat without melting the Tungsten. ::))      Won't happen again,    LL

Diamond Jigs have been the first thing I've been throwing down holes this year.

My favorites colors have been firetiger, froggie, and glow red with the size ranging from 12-16

This year has been a little different bite,I say small was better size 12-16 Gill Pill almost any color worked really well. Ratso's(clean) size 10 produced some real nice bulls some days but seemed to really get the crappies this year, first year I used a Marmooska and will be looking to buy more, that little size 16 did great on the tough days. Most days this year the fish where VERY,VERY light biters, some days my spring didn't move at all,Sight fishing in 10 fow or less taught me a lesson this year, some days they would hit the head first and spit it out, some days come up to the jig and gulp at it but miss by 2 inches and not come back, some days they would grab the waxies and hold it then suck it in the second time, sometimes it would be in and out of their mouth so fast,no time to set the hook.Did you ever get a gill in the bottom lip with the jig upside down? Well here's why, when jigging above then they make a upward dash and roll when they hit, bottom lip hooked.
