Deer Lake near Munising
« on: Dec 12, 2007, 11:40 PM »
I fished Deer Lake near Munising on 12/12. The ice was in ecxellent condition. There was 5-6" of black ice. It was very consistant everywhere I drilled. There was also very little snow cover, just a light dusting in most places. The access road has some heavy snow on it so its pretty hard to drive back to the lake. I marked a lot of fish in the deeper water but only managed to "lose" one very nice walleye(24" or so) right at the hole, I was fishing a swedish pimple with a minnow. I also caught 2 pike on tip ups. Good luck to anyone heading out here, I had a hard time figuring the fish out.
