I don't know about you guys, but I am pretty excited for Saturday.  Fiance bought me a new rod/reel tonight for me to play with on Saturday!  Also grabbed some silver/pearl tubes and twisters to try to excite the Lakers. Going to spool some fresh line and rig my tip ups, and we will be good to go!  I'll probably deadstick a minnow in a nearby hole while I'm jigging, and drop 2 flags at different depths.

Sounds great man. I have a dozen dead minnows in a ziploc getting ripe. I'm gonna pick up some shiners tonight to bring also. I got another rod yesterday too, gotta put some line on it so I will have 2 dead sticks and my jig pole.

you might want to throw them dead shiners in the freezer for a little bit, so that they're not mushy and will stay on the hook.  yesterday the rooster only had small silver shiners, so he gave me 6 golden which were fairly big and 6 suckers.  I think that I might go over to cabelas and get some of their preserved shiners or the berkley gulp alive, just for something different to try.

I have a handful of frozen smelt, and a bunch of frozen minnows.  I'm actually heading to Rapid this afternoon, so I'll grab a scoop of minnows and some waxies or spikes.

I don't care where we meet up.  I've caught a couple lakers just below the visitor center during the summer.  I haven't caught a laker through the ice before.

Ok cool. I have been to the north side 3 times this year and pulled 2 out. I have never really seen a lot of action to speak of and bedo said he has pulled 5 out in an hour before on south side so I'm willing try it.

Just pick a spot to start and we'll move around until we find em.

How is the ice holding up to get from the north ramp to Jenny Gulch with an ATV?  There was a lot of buckles in the ice and I didn't know if the mild temps this week did much to it?  Also, is anyone else finding anything in the lake trout stomachs when you are cleaning them?  It's hard to get keeper size, but the ones I was able to keep this year had empty stomachs.  Through the pics I've seen this year, the smaller lake trout are pretty skinny, but when they break that 30" mark it seems they are able to start putting the groceries down and packing on the pounds.  I think that because of the deep cliffs and dropoffs that make up the lake, it's hard to get a forage base started for these fish...

There is a pressure ridge running across the north boat ramp bay, but you can run up around it on the shore a few feet. Saw an ATV head down Jenny the other day from the north boat ramp. There are plenty of tracks to follow unless you're getting good snow there now too!

I am going to start at the swim beach, I have a teal jeep and a sled built out of 2x4s.  I will have charcoal going in the baby weber from 11-1ish if anyone wants to grill.  I am cooking brats.

So...not sure on Apple and Baker, but it sounds like the plans have changed to start at the South side, parking at the swim beach.  I don't know if everyone wants to start at the same place, or if two groups want to pick different spots and just let each other know how the fishing is?  I'll be at the beach in this critter:

Did someone say a Teal Jeep :O
