We're going to try to have a second get together .. ice permitting.

Date : Sat Feb 26th

Location : Lake Hopatcong State Park

Time : 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Sign In : 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Categories

Panfish :
Bluegill, Crappie, Perch, Sunny

Bass :
Largemouth/Smallmouth

Chain Pickerel

Musky

This is going to be a simple get together... bragging rights only and everyone bring their own food/drink (no cook out). There's no sign up required but you can respond to this post to show us if there's enough interest.

Ice safety: The determination of the safe condition of lake ice is the user’s sole responsibility. Any injuries, etc. are also the user's sole responsibility.

Bayonne, I offered a bunch of wooden trips to you in the past for your Scouts. I will bring them is you are interested. Otherwise I'm thinking of just leaving the box with a "Free Take" sign in the parking lot. Moving in the next year and doing a bit of clean up when I get the chance. I don't know if the board allows it, but I would like to see a TRADING / SWAP / FOR-SALE.............. thread so that folks without could procure from folks with stuff. You know, either FREE, or for TRADE, or for SALE. Thats if its acceptable. Have a 12 footer Mirror Craft as well.

He probably is looking for something with just nj or local guys. Alot of that stuff for sale is to far out of reach to even go check out.

Da Wizz nailed it. Local barter / trade / sale is the kind of thing I was asking about. Even some chat about the guys at the Get-Together just bringing stuff and talking it up befor would be good.

took a bad fall yesterday ribs landed on my power auger handle in alot of pain as of now but if it gets better ill be their thak god it was the hadle and not the bit the way i went down hard that would have been bad

fished there sunday great ice i little open water by the spillway. cut open for apolar dip.stay to the right of rock pile. fishisn was good for perch ,sunniesplus 2 picks.hope to be there sat. icould use acouple of those tip ups but scouts come first

Reb and I will be there .. Shawn can't make it.

I just checked the weather forecast and it looks pretty good.

Friday it will rain but Friday night should be 17 degrees.

Saturday should be 37 degrees, partly cloudy and winds to only 5 mph.

i'm so looking forward to meeting my ice fishing bros but weather don't look good hopefully rain doesn't mess up ice maybe someone can give us a report 2 morrow

If you put any faith in the forecast, then it should be OK.

Warm today but the wind chill won't get much above freezing either. What will hurt is the wind / rain that will eat up the ice. I plan to be there early and to be very careful in getting on and walking around.

With any luck someone other than me will post a conditions report later today.

I just got off the phone with Reb. We both plan on being at the parking lot around 6:30 - 6:45 AM. We both have blue flip over huts and Reb has the IS flag on his.

We both plan on staying relatively close to each other throughout the day .. acting as a measuring station.

Seriously people are worried?

There was 18 inches of ice there on Sunday...there was 18 inches of ice there yesterday(about 13 of it black ice). Now i know it wasnt like a 100 degrees out there today so im sure there will be some ice to fish on this weekend.

I said it on another thread...Dave from Lks End Marina was getting calls after the two days in the 60's last week if the Crappies were biting in open water...

I think the ice should be fine it's just the first few feet of shoreline that might be iffy. We'll find out in the AM.
