What's the best colors of slab grabbers for perch
-
I am partial to silver with a red bead. With that said I have several colors and several color bead colors. Some days other colors rule. I always start with silver wit red bead and go from there.
-
Thanks. Was looking at their website and didnt know what design or colors to start out with
-
Perch are cannibalistic. Start with that color, including fire tiger.

Never fished with one of these lures. Can someone tell me 2 of them to buy?
-
How well do these work? I have never even seen one before

They work quite well, but seem to work better on perch in large waters such as Saginaw Bay for some reason, at least for me. Usually fished when the perch move in to the shallow depths - these baits have a slow drop with an attracting flutter that really draw fish in.
-
They work great on the perch but basin crappies love them too! ;)
-
How bout eye? Do they like them as well?

I use a hook similar, "Jack", to kill the slab perch on Saginaw Bay. Jack hooks tied to my home made aluminum arrow jigging rods is a perch's nightmare. You can actually feel a perch breath on these rods.

It actually reminds me of those Swedish palm rods. Same concept maybe? 🤔
-
There is no thread, I came up with the concept years ago. I've been making them for about 40yrs now. I sell them locally for $15 each or 2 for $25. They are very sensitive, light weight, the handle is insulated and warm to touch and if you drop them in your hole, they float!
What happens if you hook into something bigger while targeting perch? Can the rod handle it?
-
That's pretty cool

Not sure where I heard of slab grabbers. Watched the video and decided that they will probably work for crappie. Do a lot of open water drop shot rigs for gills. I actually think I will get more hits on the fly above the grabber. Y’all have a great season!
Keep it safe! JDL

I use them on Erie and Simco Canada...we never had a problem catching our 50 perch limit on Simco with them...best bead color are red and chartreuse, gold or silver both work well. I also pound the crappies on them in local lakes...
