Looking for any intel on ice fishing at Katepwa Beach area - recommended spots, current ice thickness, etc.
Got a cabin earlier this year and not familiar with the lake in winter.
Thanks in advance!

My in laws have a place on the far north east side and am hoping to get out there in the next couple days, I usually just fish on the east end, but let me know how the bite is if you do go

There’s lots of shacks out on the south end and a few off the east side near the beach. Hoping to head out tomorrow. Good luck!

We've hit the main beach twice with nothing but a bump and a tug. There were about a dozen shacks around us and no one had the bite on either - talked to a few folks who were set up further south, said they were catching walleyes about half way between the beach and south point (along the 56 side). Trying tonight and will report back.

Sure seems to be a lot of slush and water close to shore areas with heaves close to shore be careful?

I noticed a lot of slush close to shore as well and some sketchy heaves close to points. Middle of the lake was rock solid without a ton of snow. Caught a ton of tulies and some walleye on sunday at sandy beach.

I'm heading out to collect water samples at this sampling point on Monday. In the summer we launch our boat from the provincial park. But I'm not sure if it'll be safe to drive that far on the ice, especially if there are heaves near the point? We might just walk on from the west side of the lake instead.

Was out yesterday ice conditions good but have a question to ask .perch school and walleye school and I think tulibee school. Then why did I catch one of each inI a two hour period of time are they social distancing or is is it because schools are closed this was in same hole😆
