Kid caught a bullhead tonight…boy they act weird under the ice.

Just on a typical setup, or anything special? I’ve wondered if you could get a catfish on a chicken liver or hot dog dangling off a tip up, not knowing what cats go for when the temps are so low.

I caught a Channel cat once on a glow hook and a maggot.  Sometimes strange things happen.

I catch bullhead a lot fishing crappie in shallow water (10’) with Hydroglow lights.  They must be able to smell the wax worms because they’ll come up off the bottom and circle around until they find it.

Yes this one was swimming just below ice…bumped waxie and then backed up and hit it. It then turned upside down and acted really weird.

they can sure ruin a crappie bite.  good eating from clean waters too. chum and they will come ;D

No kidding I one time was jogging sunfish up and a bullhead swam right up to my hole and I scooped it out with my ladle!
Crappie isn’t crappy!
