For members adding your cordless drill set ups please add your make/model and amp hour battery as well as the diameter of the auger you are using  ...most manufactures make some under powered she shed picture hanging drills . If your drill set up is working great and not on this list I would like to know as I will add it to the list of battle test set ups.

I’m using the Ridgid Brushless Octane Gen 5X with Octane 9 ah battery. Model #R8611506. Supposed to have 1300 ft/lbs of torque. Connected to a 7.5” K-Drill. It like this setup and it performs very well.

I mount the handle in line with the grip, instead of perpendicular or in an “L” like most guys I see.  This way it feels more natural because your hands are 180 degrees apart, like they are when using a power auger.

Dewalt 996 with the gen1 ion (steel) bit adapted to it with just the cheap black plastic disc.
4ah I believe have not looked at them yet this year.

Here is a drill that I’ll add to the list for torque ratings. 780 INCH POUNDS.

I forgot to add makita. The major brands are accounted for now.

I'm trying out something new this year that I haven't seen before.  Its a Bauer mud/mortor mixer.  Yes its Bauer, (let me have it I can handle it) on a Razr hand auger with drill bit attachment.  I figured with the lower rpm's and high torque it would work out.  I have friends that have burned up drills so I thought I would try this route instead.  I also have some stone/masonary work to do in spring so this will serve a dual purpose... I will let you know how I make out after this weekend.  Hoping to try it out.

tight lines,

Rabbitt

You can get over a 1000 holes in 10inches of ice on 1 battery with these. It's called the Trap Attack.

My Kobalt 24v comes in at 650 in pounds. Just under the 700 always suggested but it cuts real well with 7 inch Mora blades and perfect with 6 inch Eskimo. Price is very reasonable.
