Sat will be sloppy Sunday will be lumpy lol

Can handle lumpy just fine its the plowing snow with the sled that sucks and will only be bad at access points and heavily fished areas

Was at hearthstone this morning. Walked today and stayed fairly close to the parking lot... not more than 400 yards in any direction. Ice was 11” plus in every hole I drilled. 9” of black
Ice plus 2”+ of white on top with about 8” of snow on top of that... walking was a bit challenging but not insurmountable. I stepped off the ice about 2pm and there was about 6” of snow/slush. The cold snap will most definitely make it bumpy but the fishing wasn’t bad today. Despite the amount of pressure hearthstone gets I managed three lakers through the ice and about 50 chasing...

{Hearthstone} when I left, the hill was so clean a small 2wd could’ve made it back up the hill.. I imagine it’s slick now that the temps dropped again though...

Thanks for the info.
I'm guessing that water hole is the shoreline torn up from machines?
Something to consider about using them a little later so walkers can still access.

Exactly tuna.  I have a feeling when the ice goes its going to go quick this year especially the shorelines.  Last thing we need is them getting busted up.

As of today there was only 2-3" of snow with a crust on top on the north end.  A small amount of slush/water under the snow.  It was a much easier drag than anticipated.

The shore line wasn’t busted up from machines I was just fueling tunas fire. That spot just has a little stream run off into it the lake causing it to melt down. Lol

Shoreline always gets shot from machines first.
Its going but not real fast.
Access will be key now.

Ice I was on today had no snow.  Warming shores and lost about 2" on main body.

This question may have been asked already, but I can’t seem to find it on this thread. Is there a good spot on the lake to target Lakers and salmon with a very nearby spot to target perch?

Ice lost 2in today or snow lost 2in ?

All the snow melted ? My friend was on the lake today with his sled. He said it had snow cover

Blue line above is still snow,  slush.
Below is no snow and losing ice.
The temperatures are moving south to north.

Sorry for confusion

I was up there today at MDB for the atv races. Soggy under the snow. Tons of standing water.

Lol I don’t need one. But I have one, why wouldn’t I use it ? Why would I limit myself .  Should I swim with my rod in the lake instead of using my boat also ?

Only answer is,  it inhibits others without one.  I own one myself.
Your machine will do more damage to the ice than any walkers.

Welcom to America.  Who complains about freedom. I’ve never busted up a shore line with my atv that was safe to walk on. But it has kept my feet went.

Fished Hague today.  Lakers were not very aggressive today.  Found most fish in 80-100 fow.  Once you got past 100, the action really slowed down.  Guys all the way across the lake.  Nice easy drag, couple of inches of snow and no water on the ice.  Shout out to FISH307 for hooking me up with some new Mora Blades.

Anybody parked on the ice at Fort Ann beach better check vehicles ... water is pouring up through a crack and is already about 5 inches deep... saw 4 or 5 vehicles go in years ago same way. Once water keeps so deep brings down the ice.

Why oh why do people do crazy things just for a fish ? Is it hype that lures them in ?  Hopefully nobody got injured and a shame to that EXPENSIVE equipment.

Was just fishing there Friday. I walked by that spot in the photo and I could tell that area next to shore was getting soft. That entire area and deep water only had 5”-8” in spots. This photo amazes me, just foolish and crazy.....
