I made my own buzz stick.  I went to a porn shop and bought the very smallest message vibrator they had it worsk just like the buzz stick plus you can stick it to any rod. It was under ten bucks too!  Buzz sticks alone are $40 by me at the gander hill.

I use the Genz rods in the lighter actions for panfish and love em.  They are fast enough to incorporate good movement on lures up to 1/4 oz, yet bend nicely when fighting fish.  They also bend smoothly enough to allow for a good hookset while protecting light line from breakage.  I would like to try them in the heavier actions for trout and walleye.  Tough to beat the value of the Ugly sticks in the heavier actions though...

Da_Roc, now come on, did you really go to the shop or did you just select one from your collection???
Hey, I wonder what they were thinking when you asked to see the "smallest" they had in stock???

Does your wife like to go with you now?    ;D

I'd love to be there the first time you pull that out with a group of 3 or 4 hardcore (no pun intended) ice guys!

Hi Guys!

I was just kidding about the buzz stick.  Thought it would take your minds off the slow freeze we are having.  Anything to break the tension!

Bought three Buzz rods from Cabelas for my boy's stocking stuffers.  (Boys are 17, 19 and 22 but heck, I still put a Christmas sock out and let my "Santa" fill er up!  Nice little rod, yep a gimmick but will be fun to claim it' the reason we're slaying fish!   ;D
Curious as to how long they will last bashing around my pack basket but time will tell.  I understand if the line is long, the buzz may not impart action to the presentation.  After plopping down the cash I realized there are a lot of high quality rods out there for less money.  I liked the homemade rig too, that was innovative.  I'll give some feedback later next month after putting it to good use.
