Jet Stream Forecast for the Next Three Months!!!

Cliff notes version:

February is going to be pisser cold in the mid west/east due to the jet stream changes.  (remember all those headlines about freezing temps in CA etc., that is coming east)
 
March is expected to be very warm

I'm expecting another very early spring as well. Last year we lost 15 inches of ice in 7 days in mid March. While we are experiencing some real cold right now I believe our winters are going to be shorter and shorter. That is the first time I ever had my boat out fishing open water up here in March.

The story started out good for ice fishing, but then it all went down hill. The spring looks bad for the fruit farmers again this year.

well at least we will be able to get out more than last year and the beginning of this year

It might not be bad for us after this cold snap we should have over 2 feet of ice now, then add a cold Feb. with no snow as of yet, and we could be looking at a long ice season. I don't mind ice fishing in March in a tee shirt on 3 feet of ice.
