Northern MN Gold
« on: Dec 14, 2015, 11:15 AM »
Hit the road and headed to Northern MN to finally walk on water this weekend. Had a blast checking lakes and bringing some Gold topside. All fish were released to swim, breed and grow larger!

Small bodies of water with no real predators in them, those fish over 17" need to be kept around to ensure future populations.

A lot of the walleye up here in the darker tannic waters have a darker tone to them. Most of the time I'd don't see the white spots on the tails. Yellow perch will sometimes have a purplish hue.

They were very colorful fish! My GF got a nice surprise Perch while targeting Eyes.

You really arnt making a lick of difference putting 17" eyes back. I woulda enjoyed them. None the less, good job I am jealous for sure.

It's a 20 acre lake which doesn't get stocked. There are only suckers and walleyes in there. There aren't a ton of fish in the lake so those fish that are old enough to reproduce are very helpful to future quality in the lake.
