Title: Buckshots
Post by: DRabbit on Feb 03, 2006, 02:42 PM
Hey, I was just wondering how many of you guys use the buckshot rattler jigs. What are your favorite jigging styles for them, what kind of fish are you usually targeting with them? I just stated using them this year and was looking for more info on them. Thanks

They work good on the perch when u bang them off the ground and then jig it.

I've caught lakers, perch, pike, walleyes, rainbows, browns, brookies, crappies, bluegill, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass on them. They are especially good for lakers, rainbows, and walleye. The smallest model, the 1/16 ounce is killer on perch and crappie, or finicky trout (as rare as finicky trout are in CO).

I keep a nice supply of these jigs in my icebox.. I would say I use one 3 out of 5 times on the ice.

I have had success witht he superglo chub and superglo rainbow for perch, crappie, walleye, splake and lakers. Actively jig, shake, lift...and thump them on the bottom! They attract fish...and trigger them to strike!
