To Terry's family and friends both near and far.

I never knew Terry in person, but with his photos, videos and online posts I can say that I knew him as a friend, so it is with great sadness and shock that
I learn of his passing.

He had such an exuberant personality, such a flair for life and he will be deeply missed by all of us.

There is not much I can say that has not been already said about Terry.

So I will leave all of you with this poem.

" You can shed tear that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he lived,
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see that he has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared,
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes,
  love and go on."

Thank you to all who posted pictures and comments about Terry. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. TGF was my fishing bud as well as my brother in law, I will continue to ice fish in the great white north for the big pike we tried to catch. I look forward to many more days on the ice following his motto.

happy fishing TGF

Even though I never had the honor of meeting Terry in person I talked back and forth with him on here for at least 8 years. He was always willing to share info and just a great guy to talk to! My condolences go out to his family and all his friends and everyone that got to know Terry through this site. You are missed big guy and every time I catch a slimy ol burb she's getting a kiss in your honour!!   :'(

It saddens me to hear this news of Terry's passing. I remember the first time Terry and I got together for fishing and how I almost lost my rod down the whole from a lunker hitting it. It was also with him that I had my first keeper burbot as we hit one of those fabled spawning balls to which we never had better night of burbot fishing since... Terry was one to go out of the way for others to broaden their experience. When I talked to him last year about coming up north to fish he took the time to put it out there for the big get together at the Causeway and was looking forward to another trip this year somewhere with him when I came up to PG. I will miss him and how he was someone that took the time to invest in others and cared for others. I'll catch one for ya buddy!
There's always a bigger fish... and I'm going to get it!

I send my condolences from Wyoming to his friends and family. I am a little behind the ball on getting the news, but was shocked to hear it. Life is precious, and we can't forget that. Very sorry to hear.

As with MountainMan I was a little behind on the horrible news of Terry's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends, which it seemed he had a lot of. I must say that every year, one of the funnest things about Iceshanty is the friendly bickering back and forth between the BC vs WY laker contest. As someone who only knew him through a keyboard, it is easy to see by what all of you have expressed that he was truly a genuine guy. Once again, I am so sorry to hear the news.

Geez, Its still hard to believe. I consider myself to be very fortunate to have had the oppurtunity to have spent time with Terry on a few occasions fishing in the past, as well as a few of his good friends of whom I know feel equally blessed. Terry was the type of person who if you had only met him and known him a short time , would have made you feel like you had known him a lifetime.I for sure will miss that Big Smile.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Terry and his Family.
" Gone but never Forgotten "  See you on the other side Terry. Tightlines Bud. :(
I remember quite well what Terry said when this photo was taken...."So is this the way Manitobans do it!" As he stretched his arms out to make the fish look bigger.............I'll never forget it :-) :-) :-) :-) He was taken from us exactly 1 month today but it seems like it was just yesterday.......a tragic loss for so many.

My deepest condolences to Terry's family, he will be truly missed as he was a great man.
Although I never met him his stories and pictures were always entertaining and he was a fair and good natured moderator.
RIP Terry

Holy jeez, so sad to hear this.  :'(
As with others, I have never met Terry but exchanged a few messages back and forth on various fishing topics. He was a great guy and I'm sure he is in a better place now.

There's a great picture of Terry on the Marmish.ca website with a laker caught on his marmish rod.
