No need to name a lake or location. Any ice left after the warm up and rain or are we definitely starting all over? I will check a few spots as well. I have about an inch of snow this morning as well.
Just add water.

The no name lake in front of my house had a bunch of slush ice and some scattered snow on it. I'm sure it has tightened up today but looks to give it all back at the end of the week. There is a bit of open water as well. Personally I would NOT go on that unnamed body of water.

I don’t think anything will be really safe in RI until the first weekend in Jan. It was really cold this morning and the forecast is warming up this weekend again with rain. But hopefully we get a really cold snap before the first weekend of Jan and we can all get back out there!!!! Maybe some small ponds or brooks might be safe before this Friday but be really careful everyone!!!!

I saw whitecaps on all of the big bodies of water in N.W. RI. today.  A few of the smaller ones are still iced over but the edges are shot. Back to MA.

CT has gone quiet too, I think everyone is depressed about this damn warm weather, and we are too stubborn to drive 4 hours north.

Depressed, yes. Stubborn to drive, not at all. However, I am not driving 3 or 4 hours one way with a 2 year old just to fish 2 hours if he gets sick of it. I love ice fishing more than any other sport but I still have limits and I am patiently waiting as the season is still young. If we start nearing the end of the season and the local waters are still unsafe, the baby sitting card will be pulled and who knows where I will end up for ice.

Exactly what I expected but thank you for the report. There are many ponds out that way that I love to fish but its been a while since we had decent ice "down south".

I guess I'm the stubborn one, I'm not driving 3 hours one way for a day trip anywhere, if I had 2-3 days that is another story.  At this point I might break out the open water gear again and chase some holdovers to scratch the itch.

I took a 1.5 hr. Ride out towards western Mass. today. 8” of great ice. Lots of fishermen and ice skating on a beautiful day. Fishing was slow but it really didn’t matter. Happy to be on the ice wherever it is.

Friend of mine fished southern Maine yesterday. Just shy of 3 hrs from his place in north smithfield  and reported 7-10 inches of good black ice. One pike around 15 lbs as a reward and a few smaller ones for the day.

Going to NH to see family this weekend and you bet I'll get out fishing once or twice. I'll let you know how I make out.

And MRC good to hear. I wanna ice fish maine someday soon, I stalk the maine forum a lot and they seem to have tons of pike up there but majority of the locals seem to hate them because they fill up their bellies with trout

Lots of doom and gloom on the MA boards. I’d be up for a potential road this coming Sunday. Need to get out soon

Looking like more rain on Saturday. I was hoping to drive north for some ice but the rain may keep me at bay.

The weekly rain storms are becoming very annoying.

What's the good word? I'm in San Diego what's the chances of finding some ice local when I'm back Saturday.  Looks like it's a lot colder than when I left
