Mag III with a new lazer bit???
« on: Oct 27, 2010, 02:25 PM »
I have an old Mag III that is a great auger. I got it from Grandfather 6 years ago and he did not use it more than a handful of times. So I got a low hour older auger and I was looking at maybe upgrading my bit to the new lazer bit. I was wondering if anyone has done this and does it really speed up the cutting process?

I am keeping the chipper bit, but was hoping to pick up some speed I guess.  Any input would be appreciated, before I pull the trigger on a purchase.

I have a Mag III with a Lazer 224 blade (the 4 blade bit) and it works awesome. I haven't compared it to a chipper blade but my auger will drill almost as fast as Dad's brand new lazer.

I was looking at the 224, but wanted a 9" which I could get in a lazer.  Thanks for the info!
