Striker Ice Trekker Bib Review.
« on: Oct 06, 2020, 09:07 AM »
I recently purchased/received a pair of SI Trekker Bibs . They are constructed very well ..which is what I come to expect from Striker Ice . The material is the same as the Hardwater line up ..which is described as having a Carhart feel the insulation factor is a 6/10 as opposed to 7/10 on my Predator jacket/bib.

Couple things to note sizing ..I can best describe it as cheap snow bib sizing ..as it does not have any spandex/elastic on the sides of the bibs ..these are form fitting in a way . So those wanting to layer i.e. hooded sweatshirt and vest ..you may want to up a size . The bibs have two hand warmer pockets ..but does not have the left chest horizontal zippered pocket  :%$#!: I miss this feature ..my sunglasses/reading glasses chapstick need to find a new home now . The bib has full bottom to hip zippered side with snaps as opposed to magnets . The In-seam adjustments are the same as the other models with Velcro and can be adjusted shorter up to 4 inches or so. My thinking on these is for first/last ice or the whole season if last if we have a repeat of last years weather .. I did not purchase the jacket as my plan is to use my recently purchased soft shell from Sportsmans Guide .and/or my Climate jacket..once again on warmer days/season. I purchased the bibs from Franks Great Outdoors for $99 plus shipping... they shipped really fast order early Monday morning and at my door via FedEx on Thursday. At these prices dont dilly dally ..most popular sizes are sure to sell out like last season.

This jacket is very similar to the Climates interior soft shell but with a detachable hood . The price has dropped down since I purchased it a 20 bucks

Good review. I agree with most of the stuff you said. I bought these same bibs at the beginning of last season. My only complaint is that the knee portion of the bib has already run thin for me and takes on a lot of water if I kneel. whenever I have a fish on it a hole I usually kneel at the hole and it only took 1 to 2 months for that part to get worn very well. now they take on water really easily if any of the ice melts or I kneel on snow. Besides that they have been very good ribs for me even in minus 20° weather
