Is Sally 105 safe again ?
« on: Jan 16, 2022, 08:21 AM »
Any word on safe edges at 105 ? Red Bridge was looking rough around the edges on Friday, wondered if conditions at 105 have improved. Just looking for a safe place to take the grandkid Monday. Thanks

I would think red bridge would be good by tomorrow if it's not already. I plan to try it tomorrow.

We was on about 5 to 6 inches this morning near the bridge. Had a slow bite yesterday and this morning was slow but the bite picked up when the sun came out and it got warmer. Also there is some ugly white looking ice on the edges but its just the old ice from when the lake rose a little bit. Really no water under it but you have to be careful going up and down on it.

Ice is good on Sally and the bite was excellent yesterday and i would expect the same today. Alot of cracking and popping in the morning from the ice tightening up. Black and chartruese tube jigs was a good choice.

I have not been since sunday but suspect there still is a decent bite. You might have to work the fish more than the past weekend with the weather change. No reason for the fish to not still be in the area.

I was out there today (Thursday) and the bite was slow in the morning. Guys were marking tons of fish just not getting any takers. About 16-18 guys out on the ice, a lot of moving around.  Tuesday was a very good day , but has been slow since then. Going to try again Saturday with my daughter.

I fished yesterday with a friend and we caught 40 total, not as big as Tuesdays fish but a nice mess. Good 7-8" of ice. Matter of fact im making the 10 min drive to salamonie in a bit and fish the evening bite.
