first successful trip
« on: Nov 21, 2005, 03:30 PM »
My fiance and I went out on the Tanana and caught 2 monster burbot... probably both close to 15 pounds, hers was bigger though.  I'll get weights tonight.  I also dropped her camera down the hole...a quick grab saved it but it doesn't work now :o

Fell down the hole, right....

Always wear clean underwear, cuz ya never know when the paramedics are gonna have to cut your pants off.

Take the battery and the memory card out and let it set for a few days in a warm place.  Oh ya, and cross your fingers and be extra nice to the fiance untill you get it fixed. ;)  good luck

Oh mann! I don't know how i would act if someone i knew dropped a camera in the water after i caught a big fish!!!! I would love to get up to the mainland and do some ice fishing for Something like burbot or pike. You guys have many more options than me, i only have dollies, bows and landlocked silvers. Plus it's colder up there for a longer period.

I dropped my $800 camera in the water last month... I was sick about it. As soon as I picked it up, I yanked the battery and card. I placed the camera on top of my computer monitor for 2 weeks. crossed my fingers and held my breat. IT WORKS!!!! There is a very slight haze on the lense that the river water left behind but it still woks. :o ;D

If it happens to you, remove the power source imediately and do not touch the camera until you are positive it's dry. This has worked for 2 cameras and a cell phone. Can you say water insurance? ::)
