Woodstock tipup line- What lb. test?
« on: Jan 02, 2012, 12:16 PM »
I would like buy a 1000 yd spool to fish for walleye and smaller northern pike. Which lb test would work the best? I am looking at the 17# or 36#. Does the thicker line handle better or does the thinner line slow for a more natural presentation?

I use either #30 or #36,it's easier to handle and see. I don't see it hindering the action of a bait set on a trap. Just my 2 cents.

I found another seller who had more line choices and decided to go with 25# in the red.  I hope this thickness will fit my needs.  Thanks for the replies!

something heavy, at lease 25, better 30 or 35lb.  easier to grip and set hook and dont get tangled as easy, and easier to get untangled if it does.
