Been out 3 times

I went out on Badwaters area in Dickinson County on Monday and me and my buddy came back with only two gills and no flags. Tuesday we went to Lake Ellen in Iron County and came home with 4 splake between the two of us. Last night we tried Keyes Lake in Florence county Wisconsin for some smelt. Marked a few fish but did not get a bite in 2 and half hours.

Hey Scrapper, you usually do pretty good for splake on Lake Ellen? I've thought about heading over there, but haven't made the trip.

  I have only been out once on perch lake last sat fishing was slow only two keeper splake. plan on going maybe sunday let you know. good to see your still on here

Last year was the first time since i was probable six that I did not get out ice fishing. 

I have been to Lake Ellen before but how was somewhat clueless on how to fish for splake. My buddy has fished there before and helped me out. We didnt mark a lot of fish but I did have fun watching something come in a 20 feet and follow my lure up to 10 feet but not bite.

i fish for splake the same way i do lake trout

one dead line, minnow tipped little cleo or whatever looks good that day

and i jig my other hole with a jigging stick, i use a williams whitefish, little cleo, various pimples etc

jig away and hold on when they do hit..lol
