Looks like you're trying to post your album address instead of an individual picture from your photobucket album.

Was this the picture you were trying to post?-->

If so, go to your photobucket album and put your mouse cursor over the photo you want to put on here. 4 addresses will show up under your photo. left click on the IMG code address, this will highlight it. then right click on the highlighed address and then left click on "copy". Now that address is stored and you can install it in the message box on here just like it is. It will look something like this-->  [IMG ]http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae34/svviking55/DSCN0012.jpg[/IMG ]

(I added spaces in the IMG brackets so you could see what it should look like)

You can then click on "preview" below to preview your post to see if it shows up properly.

Hopefuly an easy explanation. How to post Pics.
First open a free account at photobucket.com, upload your pics there. Go to your Default Album, left click to high light Direct link under the pic you want, right click and copy. Go back to IceShanty post. Click the insert Image icon. You will see this [img][img]. You want to right click in the middle and paste.

[img]You want to paste here[img]

Hit post at the bottom and that should do it. Hope this helps. It's been working for me. If you want to write something under the pic go to the quote icon and click that before you post and write what ever you want and then hit post.

Or you could left click "IMG Code" and you wouldn't have to click on the picture icon here.  The IMG Code already has the
Code: [Select]
[img] [/img] tags in it.

i dont know if anyone else has
tryed it
but you can use your facebook for your photos
all you have to do right click on the photo you want to use and choose
copy image location

and then past it in the appropriate spot as per the instructions in this topic

i like this because i dont use photobucket or any of the other image hosting
sites but i do use facebook
and it saves me from needing to maintain another account just to host images
that i already have on facebook anyways

Dont know by the pics how big those Crappy are, but there is a new law from a couple of years ago that says they have to be at least 9" and you can only keep 25. They're not considered pan fish any more. They are now game fish. A friend of mine got a ticket for one that was 8 3/4" the first year the law came out. Only fish on the ice all day at Cuba Lake and the ECO wouldn't let him put it back.

Thank you. I know how to use the photobucket route. I just thought I would try the face book route as an alternative. For some reason it didin't work for me.

ok here is with firefox very easy
right click on photo and choose copy image location
(not copy link location)
past it in for you photo like you would with photobucket

with internet explorer its abit more work but not much
right click on the photo and choose properties at the very bottom

then highlight the address(URL)

make sure you get the hole address should end with .jpg

then just copy & past it in like you would from photobucket

these screen shots were done using these methods :)

I'm making this a separate post so members can find it easier  (updated 1-3-08)

Picture Posting Instructions;(from rgfixit with a few modifications)

Your photos must be stored online in order to post them.

You can open a free account with  www.photobucket.com, www.myfishingpictures. com, or www.hunt101.com

The following instructions are for photobucket account members:

To add an Avatar picture to your account...

1st - resize the picture you want to a maximum of 120 x 120 pixels on your computer.
2nd - open up another window to photobucket and upload that photo to your photobucket account.
3rd - Left click on "Direct Link" for that picture (this will copy the photo info)
4th - Open your Iceshanty "profile", then click on "forum profile information" and paste the address to the "I have my own picture" box and check that box. .
5th - Then click on the "change profile" button on the bottom right of that page.
Your avatar should now be displayed in all your posts. You can change your avatar at any time

To post pictures to the site...

1. Upload your pictures to your photobucket account.
2. Resize any pictures you'd like to post to a maximum of 400x600 pixels. Larger pictures distort the forum page and take longer to load. This can be done easily in Photobucket using the "Edit" options.
3. Open your photobucket album and find the photo you want to add. Place your cursor over the picture and a drop down menu will appear. Left click on "IMG Code". This will highlight the address. Now right click on the highlighted address so that "copy" shows.  Now left click on "copy" and the picture will be automatically copied to your "clipboard".
4. Go to your post you want to add it to on iceshanty.com, right click and "paste" the info.
(if you copy the image code, it already has the "img" tags on the address and no further action is needed.)

For other photo storage sites that don't install the "img" codes onto your photo addresses, you'll have to add them manually.

The "Add BBC tags:" tool bar is at the top of every message dialog below the "Subject" dialog box and the "Message icon". In the lower row, click on the 2nd icon from the left...the "Insert Image" icon(it looks like a small picture).

The command [ img][/img] will appear in your text message.
Paste the address of your picture between the commands like this;
[ img]paste your image location here [ /img]
Be sure not to add any spaces or other characters.

Preview your post to be sure your picture is there and then choose post
