This is an exchange I had with Ardisam (the Ion Parent Company) about G2 Auger and Battery Compatibility It shows G3 Batteries are compatible with G1 Auger so I have to assume the G1 Battery is inversely Compatible with G3 Auger. Contact them if You still have questions they respond quickly on business days. ....Hope this Helps You
On a side note Ebay Global shipping cancelled the Shipping while in progress on the G2 and I ended up buying a G3 Alpha 10 for on sale.
