Title: brook trout (specs) through the ice
Post by: WalleyeWarrior on Jan 18, 2003, 07:00 AM
I am looking for any information/tips on fishing for specs through the ice.  I have been told to fish shallow with small hooks and minnows but more info is always a bonus. Thanks.

teardrops with a spike will ice you a ton of specs. Black with a white belly jigged right will imitate a freash water shrimp very well and specs. love-um. Remember that specs. will often suspend well off bottom, so if your getting gills toward bottom don't forget to check up once in a while for the specs. Hope the helps...T.K.
