Don't let any one fool you jack traps need maintence after a while also.

[/quote] Last Week and Again today, my buddy Gearjammer had his Jack Traps fail him. The Flag steel on them rusted out and broke while he was setting up the trap and they are not that old.  I think he is ready to Burn those Jacks and use my extra set of Heritage traps. :)

Mardens has some nice HT's........  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ::) ::) ::) ::) :clap: :clap: :roflmao: :roflmao: :whistle: :whistle: :whistle: :cookoo: :cookoo:

I've been running a set of $15 Marden's cheapo's for going on 15 years now.  The only thing I've done to them is poly them and replaced the flags with brighter ones this year.

I have a set of Heritage and a set of Grand Laker Jack traps.  Although they are both great traps, I think my Heritage outfish the Jacks.  With the Heritage you can file the trip down and adjust the spring to go off on very light hits. I also like the way the line comes off the reel of the Heritage when fish run at a off angle to the spool, seems like there is less resistance than the Jacks which makes for less drops.  The Jacks are super reliable though.

the wider reel on the heritage makes it quicker to wind on and less of a chance the line jumping over the shaft and wrapping around it. like the metal over the plastic reels. much smother and they don't freeze up like the plastics do.
